Simposium Perabot Hijau Kebangsaan

On 22 November 2023, Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Plantation and Commodities, officially launched the FRIM Green Furniture Certification Scheme (FRIM PCS) in Putrajaya during the National Green Furniture Symposium 2023 dinner. The event was also attended by YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, and Dr Ismail Parlan, Director General of FRIM. The symposium, themed "Sustaining Industry Towards Circular Economy," brought together more than 200 participants from government agencies, industry players, and researchers.

The certification scheme aims to enhance the credibility and competitiveness of furniture manufacturers in both domestic and international markets, while supporting Malaysia's sustainability agenda and net-zero carbon 2050 target. During the event, six industry pioneers received Green Furniture Certification, including Coway Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Regal Bonus (M) Sdn Bhd, Ruffntuff Sdn Bhd, Apex Office Furniture Exporter Sdn Bhd, Meranti Marshal Sdn Bhd, and Anggun Sofa & Interior Sdn Bhd. FRIM also launched two key documents to support green furniture development, strengthening the framework for sustainable and circular economy practices in the industry.
