The SANDOR® of Fire Resistance
Doors come in different hourly rating from half hour to 2
hours. All products are proven and tested to meet strict government
standards and requirements.
When you have to choose Fire Resistance
Doors there are only two important criteria to consider :
1. In an emergency they
MUST PERFORM, that is they must open easily to allow espace
and when closed, resist fire for the actual rated period.
A Fire Resistant Door may pass the fire rating test for certification.
However, more important to you is that you must have the assurance
that the actual production doors you order are manufactured
to the same critical standards so that every one of them will
perform as designed and as certified. The critical points
in this assurance here are...
 |
All materials must be up to
the standard specified on the original certified door.
2nd grade materials or materials of lower density will
reduce the integrity of the door in an emergency. |
 |
Similarly, manufacturing techniques
must be consistent with the original specification. Cost
cuttings practices such as non-approved joins in core
material or partial quality assurance testing can reduce
actual performance. |
 |
The best Fire Door in the world won't necessarily perform
in an emergency if it hasn't been installed correctly.
Poor fitting or wide gaps may lead to failure in an
emergency. Your supplier must provide professional Fire
Door installers who adhere to standards and who are
well experienced in installing Fire Resistant Doors
in your type of Projects.
When a supplier doesn't strictly follow specified practices
it leads to cheap doors but the compromise on quality
may mean the doors do not perform to their certified
fire rating.
|
2. They must be delivered
on time, reduce hassles and deliver true value.
 |
On Time Delivery: Always chooses
a supplier who can work with you to provide the exact
requirements for every Fire Door in your Project and who
can deliver on time. Unreliable delivery from suppliers
not up to the task can play havoc with your Project Schedule. |
 |
Less Hassle: Today, a supplier
who can provide all of your Fire Resistant Doors complete
with frame and hardware will reduce the hassle of dealing
with multiple vendors. Remember that your time is much
too valuable to be worrying about the coordination of
multiple suppliers. |
 |
Value: Project costs are always under pressure
to be reduced. But as we've seen, you can't afford to
compromise on safety. Value always beats price. Demand
all of the above from your supplier...at a fair price. |
